Purpose of the Position  

  • Responsible for planning, resource management, cost / budget analysis and scheduling of all work on SACOM. 
  • Participates in cross-functional team meetings to develop scope delivery and coordinates across multiple disciplines to achieve the plans. 
  • Designs project/program/core requirements schedules of data in all project life cycles. 
  • Schedules and maintains knowledge of all key project milestones. 
  • Administers projects from conceptualization to implementation and evaluate all issues.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develops, monitors, and updates integrated project plans, schedules and budgets so that projects can be executed in the most efficient manner possible.
  • Prepares baseline budget and schedules documents for approval by project teams and for integration into a Master Synergy Achieving Consolidated Operations and Maintenance (SACOM) schedule.
  • Assesses impacts to the critical path and near-critical activities, reporting findings to the project team.
  • Monitors schedule and budget deviations and variances, and assists in the development of alternate methods for corrective action.
  • Analyzes change orders/revisions to Task Orders for schedule impacts.
  • Resource loads schedules and works with Project Managers to status and perform jobsite walks to verify physical progress of scheduled activities as needed.
  • At the completion of a project, develops and records the project’s historical schedule and cost to budget performance and documents  “Lessons Learned” for future use.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Maximo work flow.
  • Performs related duties as assigned or as the situation dictates.

Qualifications

  • Must pass company and NASA required background check and be eligible to obtain a NASA security badge.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three (3) or more years as a Project Planner/Scheduler or Finance professional.
  • Experience working with tactical and strategic planning.
  • Experience working with Project Management software.
  • Experience publishing Project schedules and resource allocation schedules, enabling consistent high, on-time delivery of requirements.
  • Knowledge of Federal and NASA regulations and procedures preferred.
  • Experience maintaining confidentiality of sensitive material and communications.

Working Conditions

  • Physical effort involving standing, sitting, walking, or detail work.
  • Occasional risk of injury due to hazards.

Physical Requirements

  • Able to lift and carry fifty (50) pounds.
  • Dexterity to operate office equipment as required by the position.
  • Bending, stooping, and walking.
  • Wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as needed (steel toe shoes, safety glasses, hardhat, and gloves).

Preferences:

  • Prior knowledge of NASA site, experienced with working on government installations preferred.

Other Requirements

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain required NASA badge.
  • Must be able to provide a certified Birth Certificate (with state seal), Passport, or INS Citizenship documents on date of hire (candidate will be sent home if this paperwork is not provided upon arrival on date of hire).
  • Must have the ability to communicate the English language, both verbally and written, in an effective manner.
  • Must pass a Pre-Employment background check and drug screen test.
  • Clean, neat, and professional personal appearance.
  • Must have, and maintain, a valid driver’s license.
